KBS News Reports “Over 90% Reduction in Accidents”… AI Driver Monitoring Technology Proven
A.I.Matics’ AI dashcam, Roadscope 9, was successfully piloted on city buses in Korea. Conducted as part of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority’s pilot program in Busan and Gwangju, the project demonstrated that Roadscope 9 can reduce traffic accidents by more than 90%.
The system detects and alerts drivers in real time for drowsiness, inattentiveness, seatbelt violations, and smartphone use—helping to prevent accidents before they occur.
KBS News Reports “93.5% Accident Reduction with AI Dashcams”
According to KBS News, buses equipped with A.I.Matics’ AI dashcams as part of the pilot program achieved:
71% fewer red-light violations
93.5% reduction in traffic accidents
The project involved installing AI-powered cameras on city buses in Busan and Gwangju. The system analyzed risky driving behaviors in real time and issued instant audio alerts to the driver.
Key Features of Roadscope 9 AI Driver Monitoring
Drowsiness alerts
Inattentiveness detection and alerts
Seatbelt violation alerts
Smartphone usage detection and alerts
Even when drivers fail to recognize their own risky behaviors, AI reacts instantly to provide immediate warnings, preventing accidents. Moreover, post-incident data enables accurate accident cause analysis.
“Enhancing Safety with AI Technology” — A.I.Matics’ Vision
Through this pilot, A.I.Matics proved that Roadscope 9’s AI driver monitoring technology can effectively reduce accidents and improve driving behavior in real road environments.
Looking ahead, A.I.Matics plans to extend its solutions beyond city buses to charter buses, freight vehicles, and specialized fleets—realizing its vision of “AI for safer roads.”
